Vous ne resterez pas la même personne, après avoir lu ce texte.
Commençons par une petite question :
Quand vous êtes confronté(e) à une épreuve ; quand vous faites face à une situation apparemment difficile pour vous ; quand vous vous retrouvez devant un ‘grand’ problème que vous n’aviez jamais connu par le passé, quelle sera donc votre réaction ? Combattre ? Ne rien faire ? Fuir ?
Quel que soit comment vous avez répondu à cette question, écoutez bien ceci :
Le défi face à une épreuve, c’est l’attitude que vous adopterez.
Réalisez dès le départ que seul l’arbre qui a subi les assauts du vent est vraiment vigoureux car, c’est dans cette lutte que ses racines, mises à l’épreuve, se fortifient. De même, l’homme progresse, tant qu’il accepte l’épreuve. Chaque épreuve de la vie est donc un passage dont on sort toujours avec une nouvelle maturité.
Vu sous cet angle, il apparaît alors clair que tout homme a besoin de faire face aux épreuves, pour pouvoir progresser en statut, en compétence, en sagesse, en résistance et prendre ainsi petit à petit le contrôle de sa vie car sinon, il sera en train de vivre au gré du vent, et prêt à être balloté ou malmené par les circonstances de la vie.
L’épreuve est donc ce vaccin qui vous rend capable de résister plus tard aux maladies appelées « tempêtes de la vie », et vous permet ainsi de vivre heureux en dépit de tout ce qui pourrait se produire tout au long de votre existence sur terre. Elle est aussi cette expérience qui donne du poids au CV de votre vie, et vous motive à postuler à des fonctions encore plus élevées de la vie. Vous pourrez alors dire : Si j’ai été en mesure de défier des montagnes, comment pourrais-je avoir peur des collines ? Si j’ai été en mesure d’affronter de séismes, comment pourrais-je trembler devant une tempête ?
Enfin, l’épreuve vient vous rendre capable de savoir apprécier les choses dans votre vie. Ce qui est succulent, ne peut être apprécié ou vanté, que comparativement à ce qui est amer. Ce qui est savoureux, ne peut être apprécié ou vanté, que comparativement à ce qui est fade ou aigre, la lumière n’est-elle pas appréciée que comparativement à l’obscurité ou aux ténèbres ? S’il ne vous était pas permis d’expérimenter l’obscurité, sauriez-vous appréciez la lumière ? Le beau n’est-il pas vanté que comparativement à ce qui est laid ? Vous opter l’un ou l’autre, c’est vous rendre la vie insipide, sans saveur, sans goût et donc, sans intérêt.
La bible a su trouver des mots justes ; le conseil le plus éloquent.
Quand nous jetons un regard dans la bible pour apprendre quelque chose au sujet des preuves, ce qui attire le plus notre attention c’est que, Dieu, par le canal de l’apôtre Jacques, nous demande de considérer nos épreuves comme des sujets de joie (Jacques 1 :2-3).
La question donc c’est ; comment pouvons-nous considérer les épreuves comme des sujets de joie, alors qu’il s’agit des choses qui nous font terriblement mal ? Jésus lui-même n’avait-il pas pleuré à la croix quand il était confronté à une souffrance atroce ?
Encore une fois, tout est question d’attitude
Regarder l’épreuve comme un sujet de joie et être capable d’y faire face, c’est simplement, savoir adopter une bonne attitude ; car en fin de compte, c’est cette bonne attitude qui compte le plus devant Dieu.
Une attitude, c’est la prédisposition mentale avec laquelle vous affrontez les épreuves. La question initiale revient donc à ce niveau et formulée cette fois comme suit :
- Comment réagissez-vous quand vous venez d’être licencié(e) brusquement dans votre travail ?
- Comment réagissez-vous quand votre époux(se) demande le divorce ?
- Comment réagissez-vous quand le médecin vient de vous annoncer une maladie que vous ne soupçonniez même pas en vous ?
- Comment réagissez-vous face à cette chose de difficile qui vous arrive en ce moment ?
En effet, votre première réaction face à une épreuve déterminera la suite favorable ou défavorable que vous connaîtrez à l’issue de cette épreuve. C’est donc cette première réaction qui vous permettra, soit de vous en sortir par la suite, soit de vous condamner définitivement à un mauvais sort. Savoir bien réagir face à quelque chose de difficile et de spontanée, c’est très souvent la seule chose qui différencie les héros, des personnes ordinaires. C’est généralement tout ce qui fait la différence entre les gagnants et les perdants, face aux circonstances de la vie.
Plus vous réagissez mal face à une situation, plus cette situation pourrait se compliquer énormément ; plus vous réagissez bien, plus vous mettez de votre côté toutes les chances de voir les choses se remettre rapidement en ordre ou se transformer en quelque chose d’encore plus mieux.
La suite positive ou négative que vous connaîtrez après une épreuve dépendra donc de la réaction positive ou négative que vous lui réserverez. Et votre mental est ce qui va vous permettre de vous en tirer, ou de vous enfoncer davantage, face à l’épreuve. Réalisez par ailleurs qu’aucune épreuve n’a jamais été surmontée, en versant les larmes.
Quelles sont donc ces attitudes positives que Dieu attend de nous ?
En parcourant la bible, nous remarquons que Dieu attend principalement trois attitudes positives de la part de quiconque fait face à une épreuve. Il s’agit de :
1. L’INTEGRITE
Quelle que soit l’épreuve à laquelle vous faite face en ce moment, sachez que Dieu veut à ce que vous restiez intègre. Ne vous laissez pas corrompre ; ne vous laissez pas emporter par la tentation de faire ce qui serait mal. Ne cherchez aucune excuse pour justifier un acte honteux ou une réaction déshonorant de votre part. Le seul fait pour votre conscience de ne pas approuver ce que vous êtes sur le point de poser comme acte, devrait suffire pour que vous ne puissiez pas le faire. Et nous savons que personne ne peut tromper sa conscience. Si la vôtre ne vous aide plus, alors, rendez-vous service en vous posant cette question à chaque fois que vous voudriez réagir d’une manière quelconque devant une épreuve :
Et que diraient mes parents, s’ils mes voyaient en train de réagir de cette façon ? Que diraient-ils, s’ils me voyaient en train de pleurer parce que dépassé par les événements ? Que diraient-ils et que penseraient-ils de moi s’ils me voyaient en train de voler, en train de me faire corrompre, en train de me prostituer, en train de détourner les biens de l’entreprise ou de l’Etat, parce que je manque d’argent ? Seraient-ils fiers de moi en tant que fils ou fille, ou seraient-ils par contre très déçus par mon comportement ? Seraient-ils contents que j’aie réagi de la sorte ou auraient-ils préféré que je réagisse autrement ?
Voyez-vous, si vos parents biologiques ne peuvent pas approuver que vous voliez, que vous vous fassiez corrompre, que vous détourniez les bien de l’entreprise ou de l’Etat parce que vous manquez de l’argent, que vous vous mettiez à vous prostituer ou à pleurer parce que les choses vous compliquent, de même, Dieu, en tant que votre créateur et père spirituel, ne peut pas approuver que vous fassiez ces choses, quelle qu’en soit la raison.
Oui, ça fait très mal mais, restez intègre. Si ce que vos parents penseraient ne vous dirait rien alors, pensez même à ce que vos enfants ou ces gens qui vous apprécient et vous respectent, penseraient de vous, en apprenant que vous volez, vous vous faites corrompre, ou vous vous prostituez, pour vous nourrir ou nourrir vos enfants. Bref, restez intègre, ne fut-ce qu’au prix de votre fierté, de votre personnalité. Tenez bon, survivez à cette tentation qui veut vous faire couler, et gardez votre statut d’homme droit et correct.
2. L’HUMILITE
L’humilité, c’est l’attitude que tout maître attend de la, part de son serviteur. Et Dieu l’attend aussi de nous en tant que ses serviteurs (Lire Hébreux 2 :5 – 8).
En effet, l’humilité est une qualité que la plupart des gens ont souvent du mal à développer en temps normal mais, qui pourrait s’avérer indispensable pour pouvoir survivre dans une période d’épreuve.
Réalisez bien ceci : Si vous traversez une période de sécheresse où vous manquez d’argent et vous n’êtes plus en mesure de vivre dans votre confort habituel, l’humilité est la chose qui va vous empêcher de voler, de tricher, de vous faire corrompre, ou de vous prostituer car, vous ne verrez rien de mal que votre entourage se rende compte qu’il peut vous arriver aussi de manquer de l’argent, de manquer des bons vêtements ou de manquer du travail.
Si par contre vous êtes quelqu’un d’orgueilleux par nature, votre orgueil vous fera couler au jour de l’épreuve car, vous ne saurez pas supporter le fait de manquer de l’argent et donc, vous pouvez même voler, vous pouvez vous faire corrompre, vous pouvez tricher, vous pouvez vous prostituer, simplement pour préserver votre image d’homme/femme riche auprès de vos amis, pour continuer à vous considérer comme un(e) bourgeois(e), alors que vous êtes en train de passer des mauvais moments. Vous irez jusqu’à vous endetter honteusement, jusqu’à vendre vos vêtements ou votre propre corps, simplement parce que vous devez satisfaire votre orgueil, et ‘sauver’ votre image.
Chers frères et sœurs, apprenons dès aujourd’hui à développer l’humilité. Elle pourra nous permettre de survivre, et de ne pas tomber, au jour de l’épreuve.
Avec de l’humilité en vous, vous saurez faire exactement ce que le maître attend de vous, et c’est la seule chose qui compte, après tout.
3. LA GRATITUDE
La gratitude, c’est l’autre attitude que Dieu attend de tout celui qui fait face à une épreuve quelconque (Lire Ephésiens 5 :20, dans la bible).
En tant qu’enfants de Dieu, nous devons apprendre à rendre grâces à Dieu en toutes choses, même si notre situation actuelle est difficile à accepter. Quand on fait passer l’or au feu pour le rendre pur, si l’or pouvait réfléchir comme un homme, alors il dirait : « Pourquoi me faites-vous souffrir autant ? ». Mais en réalité, l’or devrait plutôt remercier celui qui le fait passer par le feu car en agissant ainsi, il lui permet de devenir plus riche, plus valeureux, plus considérable.
Que diriez-vous à un homme qui vous communiquerait l’immortalité, même s’il devrait avant cela, vous administrer une piqure ? Que diriez-vous à un homme qui vous guérirait du VIH/sida ou de la lèpre, même si pour cela, il devait vous demander de commencer par vous jeter dans une rivière sale, ou de boire une pile de comprimés pendant plusieurs mois ?
Voyez-vous, tout dépend de comment on voit l’épreuve et surtout, de comment on entrevoit sa vie après cette épreuve. Si vous réalisez qu’elle contribuera à vous rendre encore plus fort, plus résistant, plus sage, plus humble, plus intelligent, plus fidèle ou plus dépendant de Dieu, alors, vous direz merci, plutôt que de réagir autrement.
En vous faisant passer par le feu, Dieu veut que vous deveniez résistant face au feu. Que vous ne soyez plus consumé(e) par le feu, la prochaine fois que vous y passerez. La bible dit : « Il fait de ses serviteurs des flammes de feu » donc, ces derniers ne peuvent plus être consumés par un feu quelconque car, ils sont devenus eux aussi des feux (lire Psaumes 104 :4). Alors, restez calme parce qu’en réalité, ce feu ne vous tuera pas. En vous permettant de reprendre une classe, Dieu veut que vous deveniez l’expert(e) dans les matières que vous n’avez pas encore bien assimilées alors, ne corrompez pas, pour passer de classe à tout prix.
Pour préparer David à affronter le lion Dieu lui a envoyé d’abord l’ours. Pour le préparer à affronter Goliath, Dieu lui a envoyé le lion. Pour le préparer à affronter Saül, Dieu lui a envoyé Goliath, et pour le préparer à faire face aux épreuves qu’il rencontrerait pendant son règne, Dieu a mis Saül sur son chemin.
Voyez-vous, Dieu voulait à chaque fois rendre David encore plus fort, pour affronter un géant de plus, et se faire encore plus de réputation en tant qu’héro de Dieu. Oh, comme ce Dieu est bon. En fin de compte, c’est seulement notre bien et notre honneur qui le préoccupe.
La gratitude, c’est aussi la stratégie des hommes sages, pour passer tranquillement leurs examens c’est-à-dire, faire face aux épreuves, sans avoir à ressentir beaucoup de douleur. Voyez-vous, si quelqu’un venait vous gratter dans votre dos, pendant que vous êtes en train de suivre à la télévision une image de vous, faisant un exposé brillant devant le Président de la République et pour lequel vous avez été sérieusement vanté et récompensé par le Président de la République, l’émotion qui va naître en vous par le fait que vous soyez en train de ré visionner cette image, aura pour conséquence d’atténuer sérieusement les douleurs résultant du fait que l’on vous gratte dans le dos.
Ceci est une stratégie que tout homme sage devrait appliquer en période d’épreuve. Quand tout devient très dur dans votre vie, faites un voyage dans votre esprit, et commencer à faire défiler dans votre esprit, tous les souvenirs de toutes ces bonnes choses que Dieu avait déjà faites pour vous par le passé. Revoyez dans votre esprit toutes ces choses que vous pouvez interpréter comme vos succès du passé. Des petites ou des grandes choses. Rediffusez-le dans votre esprit à chaque instant de la journée, pendant que vous êtes en train d’affronter vos moments difficiles, et alors, vous vous rendrez la vie heureuse, malgré les souffrances que vous seriez en train d’endurer dans le présent.
Revoyez le grand boss que vous avez été par le passé, revoyez la dame de fer que vous avez été il y a peu de temps ; revoyez toutes les félicitations, les fiertés et les honneurs qui vous étaient réservés pendant ces temps-là. Ressentez tout cela en vous, et riez profondément en vous-même. Regardez comme vous étiez cette brillante personne chez qui tout le monde venait manger, chez qui tout le monde venait prendre le minerval, chez qui tout le monde venait demander conseil, vu que tout vous réussissiez en tout. Riez un instant, et prononcez cette phrase : « Tout est encore possible, dès lors que je continue à vivre. Ce moment ici passera car, après la pluie, vient le beau temps ; après le soleil, vient l’ombrage, après l’atterrissage, vient la stabilité ou le décollage ».
En pensant ainsi, vous êtes en train, non seulement de vous donner les moyens d’affronter vos difficultés sans en ressentir trop de douleur mais par la même occasion, vous êtes en train de vous créer ou d’attirer vers vous, ces choses merveilleuses auxquelles vous êtes en train de penser car, il est INCONTESTABLE QUE L’HOMME PEUT CREER SON FUTUR ET DECIDER DE CHANGER SON PRESENT, EN SE SERVANT SIMPLEMENT DE SES PENSEES, et des émotions qui en résultent (Lire Job 1 : 1 à 5, 13 à 19, combiné à Job 3 ;25). Soyez donc sage, et servez-vous de vos pensées pour créer le futur que vous voulez, en vous souvenant simplement de vos bons moments de votre passé. Rien qu’n agissant ainsi, vous allez attirer vers vous de tonnes des choses extraordinaires, et vous saurez trouver exactement ce que vous devriez faire, pour redevenir la personne que vous étiez autrefois, et peut-être encore plus. C’est cela le mystère de la gratitude qui vient de vous être révélé.
En remerciant Dieu pour toutes les choses qu’il a déjà faites pour vous par le passé (même des toutes petites choses), vous êtes inconsciemment en train d’attirer vers vous des meilleures choses.

Voyez-vous, avec cet éclaircissement, nous espérons que tout le monde comprend maintenant pourquoi il est indispensable pour chaque personne de passer par des moments difficiles un jour ou un autre car, quand tout se compliquera encore un jour dans votre vie, votre esprit saura trouver dans votre passé, des références constituées des autres moments difficiles par lesquels vous étiez déjà passé, et à l’issue desquels vous étiez sorti(e) victorieux (se). Ces références permettront alors à votre esprit de rester positif et de croire que vous vous en sortirez encore une fois. Et alors, cela sera encore le cas car, vos pensées créent votre réalité future.
Dites donc merci à Dieu car, ce que vous êtes aujourd’hui est la conséquence de ce que vous avez été hier, et la personne formidable que vous serez demain sera la conséquence de toutes les formations par lesquelles vous passez aujourd’hui car, à travers les épreuves, Dieu vous forme, pour que vous deveniez encore plus important pour la société de demain. Pourvu simplement que vous acceptiez de passer ces épreuves aujourd’hui.
De même que tout élève doit normalement se sentir heureux quand arrive le moment des examens puisqu’il annonce qu’il reste peu de temps pour passer dans la classe supérieure, de même, vous devez vous réjouir de vos épreuves car, elles annoncent que vous voulez changer de statut. Bientôt, vous deviendrez cette personne derrière laquelle tout le monde court pour vous avoir comme conseiller ou coach ; quelqu’un derrière qui tous les employeurs courent pour vous engager comme Directeur de leurs entreprises, quelqu’un derrière qui tout le monde court pour vous avoir comme mari ou femme, etc.
Vous ne comprenez pas ce qu’est en train de faire Dieu dans votre vie en ce moment, pas de problème mais juste, faites-lui confiance. Quand vous voyagez à bord d’un avion, est-ce que vous voyez à l’extérieur pour pouvoir juger l’itinéraire que prend le pilote ? Absolument pas. Et pourtant, cela ne vous empêche pas d’avoir confiance au pilote.
Si vous pouvez faire confiance à un homme comme le pilote qui vous conduit là où vous ne voyez même pas, ou à ce médecin qui vous ouvre le ventre alors que vous êtes endormi sous le coup de l’anesthésie, pourquoi ne pouvez-vous pas faire confiance à votre créateur et votre père aimant qui est Dieu ?
Dès aujourd’hui, changez votre attitude quand vous faites face à une épreuve. Soyez-en heureux(se), et votre vie ira de bonheur en bonheur.
